Concordia University Nebraska student Katharine Vogel received her 2013 LCEF $1,000 scholarship award last month at her home congregation, Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa. In her application, Vogel referenced the fact that Lutheran Church Extension Fund has supported Zion with loan funding over the years to add on or repair the church. "In return, I have an opportunity to support my Church by investing my money in LCEF. By investing, I can be assured that my money is going to worthy causes that will benefit churches, church workers, and staff. However, it is not about the money, but about the fact that through these gifts we can truly share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others," wrote Vogel.
