Congratulations Jordyn Jurss! Jordyn is the 2015 South Wisconsin District (SWD) Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) $1,000 Scholarship award winner. Jordyn is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, Wisconsin and is studying Lutheran Elementary Education with a minor in mathematics at Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW).

Jordyn’s CUW instructor Nicole Muth wrote the following in her letter of recommendation:

“As the daughter of a Lutheran teacher and a graduate of Trinity Lutheran School and Sheboygan Area Lutheran School, Jordyn has seen the life-changing impact the Gospel of Jesus Christ has on students of Lutheran schools and their families. Through her clinical work and other urban experiences through Concordia’s Institute for City Education (ICE), she has witnessed first-hand the great need for impactful and compassionate educators for Lutheran urban schools. Jordyn has demonstrated servant leadership through her support of the faculty and staff in the School of Education and through her assistance in Milwaukee area Lutheran schools.

Jordyn exemplifies the LCEF mission through her commitment to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to urban students and their families by being a Christ-centered servant partner of the LCMS in an urban Lutheran school.”

LCEF is blessed to have the funds available to support our youth as they pursue post-secondary education. It is our prayer that they are equipped to become strong, Christian leaders as adults. In a second letter of recommendation, Jordyn’s pastor, Rev. Timothy J. Mech wrote the following:

“Jordyn is a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church…. She is also a faithful, intelligent, and determined child of God who genuinely cares about others.  She has a winsome personality and is a joy to be around.”
