Grant Winners Announced!

Congratulations to our five $1,000 2015 Minnesota South (MNS) District Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) Outreach Event Grant Winners!

  • Lutheran Church of the Ascension, Burnsville, Minnesota
  • New Life Lutheran Church, Hugo, Minnesota
  • The WHEREhouse, St. Paul, Minnesota
  • St. John's Lutheran Church, Stewartville, Minnesota
  • St. John's Lutheran Church, Winsted, Minnesota

"We received more than 30 grant applications this year," said MNS District LCEF Vice President Kurt Fuhr. "While paring down the selections to only five awards was challenging, our voting team was so encouraged by every applicant's passion to reach out to the lost for Jesus. LCEF is blessed to have the resources to support these efforts this year; it is thanks to our investors' support that we are able to do so."

Based on another strong fiscal year end, the Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF), a nonprofit ministry of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) is able to award grant funds with year-end operating results.  These funds are put right back into mission and ministry.

LCEF in the Minnesota South District offered $5,000 for outreach events this spring … five recipients at $1,000 each. More than 30 applications were received for consideration this year.

"We appreciate all of our congregations who had an interest in these grant funds and allowing LCEF to support their ministries as together we reach out to the lost and help expand the kingdom of God," said Fuhr.
