Immanuel’s Stewardship Committee Chair Joyce Brandes did the honors of burning a copy of the congregation’s paid off mortgage with the help of Pastor Wayne Bernau. Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) was blessed to support Immanuel’s ministry with loan funds in 2007 and the congregation successfully paid their mortgage off early.

Immanuel Lutheran Church was built in 1881. By 2007, the building needed extensive repairs.

Immanuel’s roots go back to 1859 and they added a school in 1864.  By 2004, Immanuel’s church building from 1881 was in need of major structural repairs. Plus, its only  restrooms were located between the upper and lower levels off the stairs and were not handicapped accessible. The congregation voted in October of 2004 to move forward with new church construction.

LCEF’s Capital Funding Services (CFS) Consultant Larry Solberg provided professional leadership for Immanuel’s Capital Campaign, LCEF helped fund the loan and the new church was dedicated on June 3, 2007. Immanuel’s baptized membership is just under 500.
