The joint Life, Marriage and Religious Liberties conference for laity and church workers of the Minnesota North and North Dakota Districts – Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) began the evening of February 19, 2016 in Fargo, sponsored by Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF). Following the Friday evening banquet, nearly 100 attendees listened to guest speaker Mr. Timothy Goeglein, former Special Assistant to President George W. Bush and Deputy Director to the White House, currently the Vice President of External relations for Focus on the Family.
On Saturday, February 20, speakers included North Dakota District President Rev. James Baneck, Joseph Infranco, Esq., Minnesota State Representative Kurt Daudt and North Dakota State Senator Dick Dever.
Infranco serves as the senior counsel and vice president of the Alliance Coordination Team with Alliance Defending Freedom based in Washington D.C. Daudt and Dever are both members of LCMS congregations in Minnesota North District and North Dakota District respectively.
During the day, LCEF provided giveaways including two $50 LCEF Visa® gift cards and an iPad Mini.
Winners included Marge Asche, Zion Lutheran Church, Gwinner, North Dakota; Rev. Dean Bell, St. Johns Lutheran Church, Ada, Minn.; and Rev. Brandon Woodruff, Christ Lutheran Church, Garrison & Max, North Dakota. The drawing giveaways were presented by LCEF MNN District Vice President George Miller and LCEF ND District Vice President Bill Sharpe.
