Karen Kuhnau was delighted with her new iPad Mini 4. She won the gift in the Minnesota North (MNN) District Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) iPad Giveaway. "I still work part time and was recently elected as our town clerk," said Kuhnau. "This will be very nice to have!" Kuhnau is a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Miltona, Minn.
Kuhnau was announced the winner by MNN District LCEF Vice President George Miller at the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) Minnesota North District 2016 Biennial Convention on June 22 at the Willmar Conference Center, Willmar, Minnesota. More than 300 women attended the convention under the theme, "Heir of God's Abundant Love," based upon 1 John 3:1a (NIV).
LWML MNN District is one of forty districts that form the national LWML, the official women's auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). The LWML MNN District exceeded their $136,000 mission grant goal by nearly $8,000 (as of 03/31/16.) LWML provides grant funds for various LCMS ministries throughout the year thanks to funds raised by its members. For more than 70 years, LWML has been encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support global mission projects.
LCEF is also a partner with and supports LCMS ministries. LCEF staff was blessed to attend this convention and support the LWML. LCEF offers various opportunities for all ages to invest including the Young Investors (Y.I.) Club (birth to 18 years,) and the Family Emergency StewardAccount (18 and older.) New adult investors can also check out the ConnectPLUS two-year term note. LCEF investments help provide loan funds for LCMS ministries to build, remodel and more.
