As a ministry in our community, there can be so much need. How do we know where to start? How can we move in the right direction together as the Body of Christ in this place?
“The VisionPath Map process has given our congregation tools to guide and direct us as a family of God in this place,” said Pastor Lester Wolfgram, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Bismarck, North Dakota. On June 1, 2016, Rev. Dominic Rivkin, a Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) trained facilitator introduced VisionPath to members of Shepherd of the Valley.
When asked about the VisionPath experience in June, Wolfgram continued, “We were reminded that the Lord engages us in order that He might equip and empower us for ministry. The surveys that were completed by members of the congregation have given us insight into the hearts of our people. Rev. Rivkin helped us to consider how ministry at Shepherd of the Valley might impact our community in the future. We are joyfully clarifying our values as a congregation and look forward to follow-up coaching sessions with Rev. Rivkin. We are grateful to the Lord for renewed focus in ministry as we celebrate Christ in our congregation and community.”
“Shepherd of the Valley sought clarity in how God’s Vision for His Church would guide the congregation in being a strong presence of Christ in the community of Bismarck,” said Rivkin. “We took the time to ask powerful questions and listen deeply to the stories of past and present movements of the Holy Spirit among these faithful saints. The congregation will continue in the VisionPath Map process to clarify critical measures of their mission, aligning key discipleship ministries in an active and strategic way. While hard work lies ahead, Shepherd of the Valley is confidently equipped with tools to assess and amplify their ministries of worship, Christian growth and service to offer Bismarck a powerful expression of Christ’s love.”
“We had a great night with Rev. Rivkin. I was pleased with the number of members who participated,” said Wolfgram.
