So much to learn! Trying to stay on top of a ministry’s financial responsibilities can be overwhelming. The Nebraska District offers an annual workshop to help equip its church and school financial staff. More than 60 people attended the Nebraska District Treasurers and Business Managers' Workshop at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) was blessed to sponsor the event.
Those invited to attend were LCMS members and staff with financial responsibilities at their churches and schools. The workshop was an opportunity for continuing education and networking. LCEF staff also shared how attendees’ ministries, and their members, can benefit from LCEF investments, loans and ministry support. LCEF partners with Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) organizations and individuals.
In appreciation of the Nebraska District treasurers and business managers, LCEF also provided two $50 gift cards. Recipients of the LCEF Gift Card Giveaway were Treasurer Monica Heller, Redeemer Lutheran Church, David City, and Treasurer Merinda Kahle, Zion Lutheran Church, Imperial, Nebraska.
Guest speakers included Nebraska District (NED) President Richard Snow, NED Treasurer Paul Pettit, NED LCEF Vice President Nate Meier, LCEF Customer Relations Director Robyn Streck, LCMS Director of Tax & Compliance Karen Sansone, Church Insurance Specialist Jordan Isaacson, and Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company Claims Department Manager Michael Kramer.
